This retreat in the spectacular French countryside will help bring more insight to your life and give you the tools to work more skilfully with life's stresses. You’ll be guided by experienced teachers in a friendly and supportive group environment.
Mindfulness is about waking up to what is happening in the present moment. During your stay we will cover the 8 sessions of the *Mindfulness MBSR course. There is mindful movement every day suitable for everyone, as well as guided walks in the local area.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided (vegetarian), as well as healthy, tasty snacks throughout
the day. Teas, juices and water are available at all times. We believe eating well is an important
aspect of any retreat and we make every effort to create delicious, healthy and balanced meals. Please contact us if you have any special dietary requirements.
Mindfulness can help you with stress, anxiety and depression.
The programme we teach is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. It was designed to help participants learn new ways of handling difficult physical sensations, feelings and moods.
During the 30 hours of classes during the week you will be provided with:
- guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices;
- gentle stretching, yoga and mindful movement;
- group dialogue and mindful communication exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life;
-a workbook with daily assignments and home practice materials.

WALKS: We will be offering optional walks into the spectacular countryside.
A typical day- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
08.30-09.00 Mindful movement/gentle Yoga and a core Mindfulness practice.
10.00-13.30 Mindfulness sessions with break
13.30 Lunch and free time
17.00-19.00 Mindfulness sessions
Optional evening activity
On Thursday we will visit a local food market and after lunch there will be the option to do yoga, a creative activity or have free time.
ACCOMMODATION: We offer twin and triple bed rooms for 6 nights accommodation. At present we are unable to provide individual rooms.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE:
Accident and travel insurance.
Air transportation and airport taxes.
Transfer to/from the airport to Le Freyche.
However we do offer a free pick up from the nearest town Foix at 17.00 on the first day and we also drop people back after breakfast on the last day.

**Please do not make travel arrangements until we have confirmed the retreat. We need a minimum number for the retreat to run.
The balance should be paid one month in advance of the start of the course. We are unable to offer a refund if cancellation takes places less than 3 weeks from the beginning of the course.
Emma Reynolds- Mindfulness Teacher
Emma is trained in both MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and Mindfulness for primary children - Paws B Teacher (Mindfulness in Schools Project). Emma feels passionately that each one of us has the ability to change or discard unhelpful learned ways of being and allow the best of you to shine. With this in mind we have created an open, safe and supportive environment to allow learning and sharing to flourish. Throughout the course she will be there to assist you in learning these new skills, providing both group and individual instruction.
Sheena Burke- Mindfulness Teacher
Sheena is a Chartered Psychologist with qualifications in clinical and educational psychology and a qualified MBSR teacher with the Mindful Academy and a .b Foundations Teacher with the Mindfulness in Schools project. With over 20 years experience working in health and education settings, Sheena offers mindfulness training to adults in her local community through her private practice, Discovering Mindfulness. She is delighted to have introduced mindfulness training as part of her work on the educational psychology doctoral training and other post-graduate programmes in teacher education at the School of Education, University College Dublin. Sheena is also an assistant trainer of mindfulness teachers at the Mindful Academy Solterreno, Spain.
